Nina brought this pie to a cook-out, and we couldn’t get enough. The recipe is a copy cat recipe from the Shony’s Big-Boy restaurant. It’s super easy to make and delicious.
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
3 TBS Cornstarch
6 TBS Strawberry Jello
1 1/2 lb Strawberries cleaned and cored and left whole
1 Pie Crust
Bake the pie crust and let cool
Blend sugar, cornstarch and water together in a medium-sized pot over medium heat
Cook stirring occasionally, until it becomes thick and coats the back of a spoon. This only takes a few minutes once the mixture begins a soft boil.
Add the strawberry Jello and blend well.
Arrange the berries in the pie shell and pour the mixture over the berries.
Cover and cool for two or more hours before serving.
Top with whipped cream.
